Postdurale punctie-hoofdpijn bij kinderen

Samenvatting

Postdurale punctie-hoofdpijn (pdph) komt ook bij kinderen voor. Kinderen die ouder zijn dan 10 jaar hebben een incidentie van pdph van meer dan 16%, wanneer snijdende Quincke-naalden met een diameter van 20-22 G gebruikt worden. De incidentie van pdph is voor niet-snijdende pencil point-naalden lager in vergelijking met snijdende naalden van dezelfde diameter. De meeste klachten van pdph worden als mild tot matig geclassificeerd en verdwijnen met een conservatieve behandeling. Wanneer de klachten ernstig zijn en niet met een conservatieve behandeling verdwijnen, is een epidurale blood patch een goede optie. In vitro hebben niet-snijdende naalden een hogere liquorflow in vergelijking met snijdende naalden.
