Farmacotherapie bij unipolaire depressiefarmacotherapie stemmingsstoornissen

Samenvatting

In dit artikel wordt de farmacotherapeutische behandeling van unipolaire depressie bij volwassenen behandeld. Naar aanleiding van diverse richtlijnen, systematic evidence reports en zoekacties in PubMed worden de volgende vragen behandeld: Wanneer is farmacotherapie geïndiceerd? Wat zijn de voor- en nadelen van verschillende antidepressiva als eerste keus? Hoe beïnvloedt psychiatrische en somatische comorbiditeit het beleid? Wanneer het effect van antidepressiva te beoordelen? Wat te doen bij onvoldoende respons op een eerste antidepressivum? Hoe moet het beleid worden aangepast bij ouderen?

Naast de overwegingen omtrent de keuze van antidepressiva en de strategie bij onvoldoende respons worden praktische aanwijzingen voor de clinicus gegeven. Het huisartsgeneeskundig perspectief wordt hierbij zo veel mogelijk als leidraad genomen.
