Refluxdiagnostiek door middel van pH-meting in de slokdarm: huidige stand van zaken

Samenvatting

Langdurige pH-meting in de slokdarm behoort al ruim 10 jaar tot het standaardarsenaal van de kindergastro-enterologische diagnostiek. Het onderzoek heeft gedurende lange tijd de status van ‘gouden standaard’ van de diagnostiek van gastro-oesofageale reflux gehad, maar inmiddels is wel duidelijk dat zo'n standaard (nog) niet beschikbaar is. Adequaat gebruik van pH-meting als diagnostische test bij verdenking op refluxziekte vergt goede kennis van de technische en praktische aspecten van het onderzoek en zeer zorgvuldige interpretatie van het resultaat.
