A food pyramid or diet pyramid, is a pyramid-shaped diagram representing the optimal number of servings to be eaten each day from each of the basic food groups. The Dutch model ‘the Wheel of Five’ is wheel shaped, and has a brand awareness of 92%. Not surprisingly so many people in the Netherlands know the Wheel of Five, because their parents and grandparents grew up with this Wheel. Back in 1953, the Wheel of Five was introduced. Since then there have been various models, each with a different focus and each based on the most up-todate scientific information.
