Most people at a EUMASS congress move naturally from lectures to group sessions to networking opportunities, with a matter-of-factness as if visiting a shopping mall. But a shopping mall does not materialise overnight, and neither does a EUMASS congress. In order to find out what it takes to organise EUMASS XXII, TBV met with two people willing to share their experience. Jean-Pierre Bronckaers, from Belgium, is vice-president of EUMASS and as such involved in organising the 2018 conference in Maastricht. Tomaž Čakš, from Slovenia, helped organise the 2016 congress in Ljubljana. We’ll be looking at form and content, some EU-wide hot topics and at accreditation.
