Op 20 maart 2012 lanceerden drie internationale koepelorganisaties gezamenlijk de
Global Agenda for Social Work and Social Development. De petitie is een initiatief van de International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW), de International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW) en de International Council on Social Welfare (ICSW). In de Global Agenda committeren de drie organisaties zich aan een wereldwijde strategie om de sociale ontwikkeling te bevorderen en de wortels van uitsluiting en ongelijkheid aan te pakken.
