Samenvatting

De vraag van de collega-tandarts luidt als volgt: ‘Bestaat er een causaal verband tussen de ziekte van Wegener en/of de medicamenteuze behandeling bestaande uit cortico-steroïden en cyclofosfamide enerzijds en dentale problemen anderzijds. Het valt mij op dat met name bij patiënten welke regelmatig hoge doseringen prednison krijgen voorgeschreven (ziekte van Crohn, inhalatiepompjes bij COPD) de gebitstoestand sterk achteruit holt door toename van cariës en breuk van glazuur.’
