Continuing Medical Education for specialized occupational physicians is defined as all activities directed at the maintenance and improvement of the knowledge, skills and competencies occupational physicians need for an optimal professional performance according to the current state of the art. ‘Continuing’ means that these activities continue throughout an occupational physician's professional life. CME programs are organized in many countries. In most countries participation in CME is not required to stay registered as a specialist in occupational medicine.
